THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.
The proposed actions provide for continuity of BCAD existing Construction Management Program software system and to authorize the Director of Purchasing to execute agreements for supplies and services of more than five years.
Motion A
On March 25, 2014, the final agreement between Broward County ("County") and Meridian Project Systems, Inc. was executed for the Prolog Manager Prolog Converge software. Prolog Manager Prolog Converge is used by the BCAD Capital Improvement Program Division as a construction project management application. This software electronically captures and organizes project information and documentation and automatically routes the information to the responsible party via customizable workflows. This allows for streamlined and timely communication between County Construction Project Managers and County Contracted Consultants and Sub-contractors. More than 30 active construction projects are being tracked and collaborated in Prolog Manager Prolog Converge software on a daily basis.
In 2016, Trimble, Inc., acquired Meridian Project Systems, Inc., the developers of Prolog Manager Prolog Converge. Trimble, Inc., continues to provide support and maintenance services to enhance the Prolog environment and increase efficiencies across the agency in communications and project reporting.
Motion B
Authorizes the Director of Purchasing to negotiate and execute a software and support maintenance agreement to the sole source designation of Trimble, Inc., to execute all contracts and amendments within the Director's approval authority and agreements delegated by the Board.
The proposed documents in these actions have been reviewed and approved by the Office of the County Attorney's Office. |
