As part of the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget Process, the Board of County Commissioners (“Board”) approved the allocation of $100,000 in nonrecurring funding to the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida (“Court”), to assist in paying for costs associated with attending substance abuse educational courses as part of the Misdemeanor Drug Court Program.
The Court and Broward County entered into an Agreement dated February 29, 2017 (“Agreement”), which provided that the County’s funding was a one-time allocation of funds for Fiscal Year 2017 and that any unspent balance that remained as of September 30, 2017, would be transferred forward to Fiscal Year 2018. At the end of Fiscal Year 2018, a portion of the allocated funds will remain unspent.
This First Amendment to the Agreement provides that unspent funds will be transferred forward beyond Fiscal Year 2018 until all the funds previously allocated by the Board are fully expended.
