THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
In accordance with Article 9.3 of the agreement, the Office of Economic and Small Business Development established a cumulative 25% County Business Enterprise (CBE) participation goal for the agreement. Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc. committed to a 25% CBE participation. Professional consultant services under this agreement are performed through the issuance of work authorizations and CBE participation goals apply to the cumulative total value of the agreement. Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc. has identified 51% CBE participation goal for Work Authorization No. CTA13-37. As of January 2018, Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc. has been paid $1,158,762 with the CBE receiving $460,166, yielding 39.71% participation.
On December 3, 2013, (Item No. 18), the Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement between Broward County and Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc. for Continuing Services for Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, and Storm Water Collection Systems RLI No. R1025211R1 for Water and Wastewater Services in a not-to-exceed amount of $1,000,000 per year for two years from the date of the executed agreement, with three one-year extensions which may be executed under the authority of the Director of Purchasing. As of December 2017, 34 work authorizations have been approved for a current agreement value of $2,321,671.
Work Authorization No. CTA13-37 is a deliberately-phased agreement for engineering services for design and regulatory permitting services for Davis Isles New Sewer and Water Main Replacement.
This work authorization was negotiated in Sunshine meeting held on November 22, 2017 attended by representatives from Craven, Thompson & Associates, Inc. and County staff. This work authorization was reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney and Risk Management Division. |
