Broward County will host the Ninth Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit on December 14 and 15, 2017, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. To offset the expense of hosting the Summit, the Environmental Planning and Community Resilience Division has been soliciting sponsorships, as approved by the Commission on April 4, 2017. The Miami Foundation indicated interest in sponsoring the Summit via a grant award, specifically requesting to pay for a number of registrations to allow nonprofit organizations in Miami-Dade County to attend the Summit, and requested submission of a grant application. Division staff submitted an application for a $5,000 grant, proposing $2,400 to support 16 registrations for nonprofit representatives at $150 each and an additional $2,600 in general support for the Summit. The Miami Foundation approved the application in mid-September.
This agreement was approved by the Grants Coordination Section.
