PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION/REAL PROPERTY SECTION AND HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.
On June 3, 2003 (Item No. 6), the Board of County Commissioners approved a Tri-party Agreement between Broward County, the City of Pembroke Pines and the City of Miramar for Improvements to Pembroke Road from SW 160th Avenue to SW 136th Avenue Project No. 5255, which was amended on June 26, 2012 (Item No. 11) (collectively the "Tri-party Agreement").
On June 26, 2012 (Item No. 10), the Board of County Commissioners approved a request to accept six surplus parcels from the Florida Department of Transportation for the purpose of constructing roadway improvements to Pembroke Road from Silver Shores Boulevard (a/k/a SW 152nd Avenue) to SW 145th Avenue in the Cities of Pembroke Pines and Miramar.
All of the construction under the Tri-party Agreement has been completed. The final item left to complete the project is the transfer of certain portions of Pembroke Road to the Cities of Pembroke Pines and Miramar as contemplated in the Tri-party Agreement.
Motion A: The parcels identified by Folio Numbers 5140-21-01-0060, 5140-22-01-0080, 5140-22-01-0090 and 5140-22-01-0011 comprise portions of Pembroke Road and measure approximately 9.94 acres. Pursuant to Florida Statutes, Section 335.0415(3), public roads may be transferred between jurisdictions by mutual agreement between the affected governmental entities. The transfer of ownership for this road was formally agreed to as part of the Tri-party Agreement.
Motion B: The parcels, identified by folio numbers 5140-22-01-0043, 5140-21-01-0050, 5140-22-01-0100 and 5140-22-01-0070 comprise portions of Pembroke Road and measure approximately 9.62 acres. Pursuant to Florida Statutes, Section 335.0415(3), public roads may be transferred between jurisdictions by mutual agreement between the affected governmental entities. The transfer of ownership for this road was formally agreed to as part of the Tri-party Agreement.
