The Office of Economic and Small Business Development did not reserve this project for Small Business Enterprises under the Sheltered Market Program, nor assign County Business Enterprise participation goals to this solicitation based on the review of the scope of work requested (Exhibit 2).
The purpose of this contract is to provide aggregates for use in various landfill, road maintenance and special projects. Aggregates are a broad category of coarse particulate material used in construction, including but not limited to sand, limerock, gravel and other crushed rock. The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division uses aggregates for road repairs, and various other County agencies use aggregates for special projects.
The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division reviewed the bid submitted by Stanford & Sons Trucking Corporation DBA Stanford Construction Company, LLC and concurs with the recommendation for award (Exhibit 3). Three vendor performance evaluations were completed for Stanford & Sons Trucking Corporation DBA Stanford Construction Company, LLC; the firm had an overall rating of 4.09 out of a possible 5.
There was no protest or appeal filed regarding this procurement. The bid posted on January 31, 2017 and opened on February 17, 2017; three bids were received with no declinations (Exhibit 1).
