MOTION TO APPROVE First Amendment to an Interlocal Agreement between Broward County and Howard C. Forman, succeeded by Brenda D. Forman, Clerk of Courts, Seventeenth Judicial Circuit for processing of citations and collection of code enforcement fines, encompassing "housekeeping" revisions including updating addresses and business hours, referencing the current Clerk of the Court, and updating County contact information, and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same.

Board action is necessary to amend the Agreement which was authorized pursuant to Section 8½-13, Broward County Code of Ordinances.

This action will amend an agreement authorizing the Clerk of Courts to process citations for code enforcement violations.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL.  

This item relates to activities in the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD).The 2016 BMSD consists of a 11.4 square miles area with a 2016 estimated population of approximately 14,759. The Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the BMSD and the provider of its municipal services that include but are not limited to business development, building permitting and housing development, libraries and parks facilities, roadway maintenance, street enhancements, and zoning and code enforcement.

In 2013, Broward County entered in to a Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the Clerk of the Courts to process citations for code enforcement violations. This First Amendment updates the name and location of the Clerk's office, hours of operation, and contact information for both parties.
