MOTION TO AWARD fixed contract to low bidder, William E. Munson Company, Inc., for Survey Boat, Bid No. X2113474B1, for Broward County Port Everglades Department, in the amount of $254,699.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.31.a.4, the Board is required to approve all purchases exceeding $250,000 per annum or $400,000 in a multi-year period.

Provides for the supply and delivery of a survey boat to the Seaport Engineering and Construction Division for Broward County Port Everglades Department.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE BROWARD COUNTY PORT EVERGLADES DEPARTMENT/SEAPORT ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Office of Economic and Small Business Development did not reserve this project for Small Business Enterprises under the Sheltered Market Program nor assign County Business Enterprise participation goals to this solicitation (Exhibit 2).

The purpose of the contract is to supply and deliver a survey boat to be utilized by the Seaport Engineering and Construction Division for Broward County Port Everglades Department.

The Seaport Engineering and Construction Division has reviewed the bid submitted by William E. Munson Company, Inc. and concurs with the recommendation for award (Exhibit 3). William E. Munson Company, Inc. is a new Broward County vendor, therefore, no vendor performance evaluations have been completed for this company.

There was no protest or appeal filed regarding this procurement.

The bid posted on April 5, 2017 and opened on April 26, 2017; two bids were received with no declinations. (Exhibit 1).
