Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION/REAL PROPERTY SECTION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) requested an easement over a portion of County-owned property at the southeast corner of Broward Boulevard and SW 1st Street in Fort Lauderdale, identified by Folio Number 5042-10-01-0020. FDOT desires to replace the span-wire traffic control system with a mast-arm control system. The upgrade to a mast-arm system would strengthen the system to withstand hurricane force winds. The easement will allow FDOT to construct and maintain a mast arm, traffic control devices, signal heads and sidewalk, which is necessary and incidental to replacement of the span-wire system.

All documents have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
