Summary Explanation/ Background

On August 23, 2009, the Plaintiff, Virginia Brennan, was injured when she slipped on a damaged step at Hollywood North Beach Park. The Plaintiff sustained an injury requiring back surgery. The Plaintiff has agreed to settle this case in the amount of $35,000.

Risk Management Division concurs with and recommends approval of this settlement.

Fiscal Impact/Cost Summary:

The source of funds is the County's general liability self-insurance fund. Agencies of the County pay annual premiums into the fund based upon the number of their employees and five-year claims history.
