Summary Explanation/ Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION/REAL PROPERTY SECTION AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The new Courthouse Tower is currently under construction at the northeast corner of SE 1 Avenue and SE 6 Street in Fort Lauderdale and is identified by folio number 5042-10-85-0010. Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) needs an easement to provide service to the Tower during and after construction. Currently the property has utility easements which FPL has been using to provide service. The proposed easement is for the construction, operation and maintenance of underground electric utility facilities. It is normal and customary for relocation of utility lines to meet the design criteria for new construction.

Although there is no signature line for the County Attorney on this document, it was approved by the County Attorney's Office on June 11, 2014.
