Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2014-348 directing the County Administrator to publish notice of a public hearing to be held on August 12, 2014, at 2:00 P.M., to consider enactment of an Ordinance adopting a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan (PC 14-6), in the City of Lauderdale Lakes, to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan (Commission District 9), the substance of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF LAUDERDALE LAKES; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ACTION:  (T-10:23 AM)  Approved.
 
VOTE: 9-0.

It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to be held subsequent to receipt of a recommendation from the Broward County Planning Council prior to adoption of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for August 12, 2014, to consider adoption of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 14-6, which is a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PC 14-6, at its March 27, 2014, and June 26, 2014, public hearings (Note: The Planning Council final recommendation will be forwarded to the County Commission after the Planning Council's meeting on June 26, 2014):

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Lauderdale Lakes

From 16.9 acres of Commercial and 7.3 acres of Commercial Recreation to Medium-High (25) Residential

Approximately 24.2 acres in Section 18, Township 49 South, Range 42 East; generally located south of Commercial Boulevard and east of State Road 7/U.S. 441.
