THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE EVALUATION COMMITTEE RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This procurement was solicited to engage the services of a qualified firm to provide removal, storage and transportation of deceased persons with accompanying materials, i.e. medical records, evidence, etc., between various locations throughout Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties on an as needed basis.
On February 11, 2014 (Item No. 26) the Board approved the Request for Proposals (RFP) No. R1180405P1, Removal and Transportation of Deceased Persons. Three firms submitted proposals in response to the RFP.
On May 22, 2014 an Initial Evaluation Meeting was held. The Evaluation Committee determined that two firms were both responsive and responsible to the requirements of the RFP.
On June 4, 2014, a Final Evaluation Meeting was held. After evaluation and scoring, the Evaluation Committee named Removal Transport Services of Broward, Inc., as the first ranked firm (Exhibit 1).
The Evaluation Committee's proposed recommendation of ranking was posted on the Purchasing Division website from June 6, 2014 through June 10, 2014, which provided an opportunity for any proposer or interested party to present any new or additional information regarding the responsibility of the proposers. There was no additional information submitted within this time frame.
The Evaluation Committee's final recommendation of ranking was posted on the Purchasing Division website from June 11, 2014 through June 17, 2014, which provided an opportunity for any aggrieved proposer to file a formal protest. There was no protest filed within this time frame.
