THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION/REAL PROPERTY SECTION AND THE OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
On November 12, 2013, Item 39 the Board of County Commissioners approved the execution of the three Public Safety Answering Point's (PSAP) lease agreements completed by the County Administrator in an effort to efficiently implement the Consolidated Regional E-911 Communications System.
Since that time the Office of Communications Technology found that there would be efficiency of operations if the County vacated Room 245, consisting of 445 square feet in the Coconut Creek PSAP and replaced it with Room 201 consisting of 220 square feet. Coconut Creek agreed to the exchange, as it would be beneficial to their operation as well. The County would reduce their footprint in the building from 6,620 square feet to 6,400 square feet, a reduction of 220 square feet and a reduction in monthly rent of $369.53.
Coconut Creek passed Ordinance Number 2014-008 to execute the First Amendment to the Lease Agreement, with a first reading on April 10, 2014 and a second reading on May 8, 2014. On May 20, 2014 the city mayor, Lisa Aronson, executed the First Amendment to the Lease Agreement.
