Requested Action
MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2014-277 directing the County Administrator to publish notice of a public hearing to be held on June 10, 2014, at 2:00 P.M., to consider transmittal of a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan map (PC 14-7), located in the City of Pembroke Pines,  to designated State review agencies, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan. (Commission District 6)

ACTION:  (T-10:27 AM)  Approved.

VOTE:  9-0.
Why Action is Necessary
It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners prior to transmittal of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.
What Action Accomplishes
The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for June 10, 2014, to consider transmittal of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 14-7, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PC 14-7, at its April 24, 2014, public hearing:

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan – City of Pembroke Pines


From 501.0 acres of Irregular (5.2) Residential within a "Dashed-Line Area" and 65.1 acres of Commercial within a "Dashed-Line Area" to  501.0 acres of Irregular (5.52) Residential within a "Dashed-Line Area" and 65.1 acres of Commercial within a "Dashed-Line Area"

Approximately 566.1 acres in Sections 13 and 24, Township 51 South, Range 40 East, and Section 19, Township 51 South and Range 41 East; generally located on the east side of Flamingo Road, between Pines Boulevard and Pembroke Road.
