Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2014-275 directing the County Administrator to publish notice of a public hearing to be held on June 10, 2014, at 2:00 P.M., to consider transmittal to designated State review agencies of a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan map (PC 14-1), located in the City of Miramar, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan. (Commission District 8)

ACTION:  (T-10:27 AM)  Approved.

VOTE:  9-0.

It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners prior to transmittal of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for June 10, 2014, to consider transmittal of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 14-1, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PC 14-1, at its April 24, 2014, public hearing:

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan – City of Miramar

From 477.0 acres of Irregular (4.62) Residential within a "Dashed-Line Area" and 8.0 acres of Commercial within a "Dashed-Line Area" to Irregular (4.95) Residential

Approximately 485.0 acres in Sections 34 and 35, Township 51 South, Range 40 East; generally located on the south side of Snake Creek Canal, between the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike and Flamingo Road.
