ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THIS MOTION.
This item supports the Board’s vision of a pristine, healthy environment, Goal 2; encourage and promote community stewardship of the environment and an ethic of conservation.
The City of Tamarac has requested the amendment to the Final Park Management Plan for Swim Central Addition to amend the future use of this vacant parcel as a passive park to eliminate a skateboard park and parking area and add a children’s playground to complement the sitting area, walking bridge and landscaping.
The project site is located at Lyons Industrial Park at the corner of NW 58th Street and NW 94th Avenue in Tamarac, Florida and is 1.72 acres. Although very limited, existing vegetation includes Sabal Palm trees and exotic species such as Australian Pine and Brazilian Pepper.
Since the Land Preservation and Acquisition Advisory Board is no longer in existence, the Final Park Management Plan and any amendments to the Plan shall be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for approval. |
