This item supports the Board of County Commissioners' adopted Strategic Plan Visions and Goals for 2012-2016: "Efficient and accessible regional intermodal transportation network." Goal: "Enhance our efficient, safe, clean, attractive, and interconnected multi-modal transportation systems."
Broward County is the fee simple owner of a 0.96 acre parcel of land located on the west side of Hiatus Road and north of Sunrise Boulevard in the City of Plantation and identified by folio number 4241-31-01-0032. The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) has an easement over a portion of the property to be used as part of its C-42 canal right-of-way. The County plans on making improvements to Hiatus Road from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard which, upon completion, will provide continuous access from Orange Drive to McNab Road. The County requested a release from SFWMD of its easement interests in the property. SFWMD approved the release of its easement interests by Resolution subject to the satisfaction of certain terms, conditions and requirements which have since been satisfied by the County. Therefore, SFWMD has executed a quit claim deed releasing all of its interests in the subject property.
