MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement between Broward County and the City of Parkland for the construction and maintenance of street lights on Nob Hill Road from Heron Bay Boulevard to Loxahatchee Road at no cost to the County, effective upon execution; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same. Summary Explanation/ Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL

Nob Hill Road between Heron Bay Boulevard and Hillsboro Boulevard is a County roadway located in the City of Parkland (City). Currently, Nob Hill Road is being extended from Hillsboro Boulevard to Loxahatchee Road. Upon its completion, this new segment will also become a County road. 

The City desires to install street lighting along Nob Hill Road beginning from its city boundary, approximately 900 feet north of Heron Bay Boulevard, north to Loxahatchee Road. The proposed agreement will allow the City to design and install a lighting system that complies with applicable Florida Department of Transportation and Broward County standards at no cost to the County. Additionally, the City will also be responsible for all costs associated with the continued operation and maintenance of the lighting system, including all electrical energy and other utility charges.
