Requested Action
MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2014-259 to transmit a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text (PCT 14-2), revising the "Hollywood Transit Oriented Development" in the City of Hollywood, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended. (Commission District 6)

VOTE:  7-0.  Commissioner Jacobs was not present.  Mayor Sharief was not present at the time of the vote.
Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body, shall transmit proposed amendments to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan to designated State agencies for review.
What Action Accomplishes
This action adopts a Resolution to transmit Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment, PCT 14-2, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/ Background
The proposed text amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan corresponds to the revision of the Hollywood "Transit Oriented Development." The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PCT 14-2, at its March 27, 2014, public hearing:

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text revising the "Hollywood Transit Oriented Development," generally located on the east side of the C.S.X. Railroad, between Sheridan Street and Taft Street.
