MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2014-222 directing the County Administrator to publish notice of a public hearing to be held on April 22, 2014, at 2:00 P.M., to consider transmittal to designated State review agencies of a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text (PCT 14-2), revising the "Transit Oriented Development" in the city of Hollywood, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan. (Commission District 6)

Why Action is Necessary
It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to be held prior to transmittal of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.
What Action Accomplishes
The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for April 22, 2014, to consider transmittal of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 14-2, which is a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan to designated State review agencies, pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/ Background
The proposed text amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan corresponds to the revision of the Hollywood “Transit Oriented Development." The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PCT 14-2 , at its March 27, 2014, public hearing:
