Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2014-221 directing the County Administrator to publish notice of a public hearing to be held on April 22, 2014, at 2:00 P.M., to consider transmittal to designated State review agencies of a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan map (PC 14-6), located in the City of Lauderdale Lakes, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan. (Commission District 9)

VOTE: 8-0. Commissioner Ritter was not present.

ACTION: (T-10:45 AM) The Board reconsidered the Consent Agenda for Item 28. (Refer to minutes for full discussion.)

VOTE: 9-0. Commissioner Ritter voted in the affirmative telephonically.

It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners prior to transmittal of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for April 22, 2014, to consider transmittal of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 14-6, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PC 14-6, at its March 27, 2014, public hearing:

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan – City of Lauderdale Lakes

From 16.9 acres of Commercial and 7.3 acres of Commercial Recreation to Medium-High (25) Residential

Approximately 24.2 acres in Section 18, Township 49 South, Range 42 East; generally located south of Commercial Boulevard and east of State Road 7/U.S. 441.
