MOTION TO DIRECT Office of the County Attorney to draft a Resolution amending Section 21.8 of the Broward County Administrative Code (Procurement Code) to increase the mandatory bid amount from $50,000 to $100,000. (Commissioner Fisher)

VOTE: 9-0.    

Provides formal Board direction to the Office of the County Attorney.

Directs the Office of the County Attorney to draft an amendment to Section 21.8 of the Procurement Code.

On June 12, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 2018-295, which amended various sections of the Procurement Code. The amendments did not increase the mandatory bid amount to procure goods and services. The mandatory bid amount is currently $50,000, and has not been increased in almost eight years. The proposed amendment would increase the mandatory bid amount from $50,000 to $100,000.
