MOTION TO APPROVE four-year Agreement between Broward County and John W. Scott, for employment as the Broward County Inspector General with an annual salary of $196,999, effective no later than May 2, 2019.

Section 10.01(E)(4) of the Broward County Chapter provides that the Broward County Inspector General shall have a contract of employment.

Approves employment contract with the Broward County Inspector General.

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT/HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

On November 29, 2018, the Inspector General Selection/Oversight Committee voted unanimously to renew the agreement with John W. Scott to continue to serve as Broward County's Inspector General for another four-year term.  Consistent with Section 10.01 of the Charter of Broward County, the above Motion seeks the Board's approval of the Employment Agreement with Mr. Scott (Exhibit 1). The Agreement provides for a 4% base salary increase to $196,999 retroactive to the first full pay period of October 2018, consistent with the increase provided to the County Administrator, County Attorney, and County Auditor.
