Requested Action
MOTION TO AUTHORIZE Director of Purchasing to negotiate and execute the First Amendment to the Agreement Between Broward County and Mission Critical Partners, Inc. in a form approved by the Office of the County Attorney, and to authorize the County Administrator to execute all administrative and budgetary actions needed to implement.

VOTE: 8-0.  Commissioner Geller was not present.
Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.31.a.4, the Board is required to approve all purchases exceeding $250,000 per annum or $400,000 in a multi-year period.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides approval for the execution of the First Amendment to the existing agreement to expedite the engagement of services from Mission Critical Partners.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE OFFICE OF REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
 
This item supports the Board's vision of "Consistently delivering responsive, efficient, quality services to the public and internal customers" and the goal to "Build into every process and service effective checks and balances that do not cause inefficiency, but rather ensure consistency, continuity, and quality."
 
On May 12, 2015, the Parties entered into the Agreement between Broward County and Mission Critical Partners, Inc., for Consultant Services for Public Safety Radio Communications Network, Request for Proposals (RFP) No. R1227606P1, in the estimated total amount for the initial five-year term of $792,921 with optional services of up to $3,000,000 including reimbursables, frequency coordination services and pass-through items.
 
The scope of the proposed First Amendment will include consultative and professional services to assist County staff in making improvements to first responder communications in indoor areas of county facilities, and to permit other and additional consultative and professional services, under Optional Services, as requested by County staff in support of improvements to the County’s regional consolidated dispatch services, in alignment with Optional Services terms and rates established in the original agreement. The negotiations will be pursuant to the established rates of the contract for an estimated amount of $215,000 to permit additional services under Optional Services.
