On December 11, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners amended the Living Wage Ordinance to increase the living wage to $13.27 per hour with qualifying health care of $1.63 per hour, or at least $14.90 per hour without health care benefits for all county contracts. The Fiscal Year 2019 Adopted Budget included a general fund reserve for living wage budgeted at $1,250,000 to address the impacts of the contract amendments for general fund agencies in Fiscal Year 2019. The contract amendments for living wage were effective April 1, 2019 and the impact to the general fund agencies is estimated at $728,379 for Fiscal Year 2019.
NOTE: We anticipate an additional transfer from this reserve in the Fiscal Year 2019 3rd supplemental budget for the estimated Transit living wage contract amendments of $282,640. |
