The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed text amendment PCT 19-7, at its May 23, 2019, public hearing, and recommended approval subject to 1) the applicant and the City of Miramar continuing to coordinate with the County’s Planning and Development Management Division staff to satisfactorily address Policy 2.4.6 regarding affordable housing, prior to a second Planning Council public hearing, 2) the applicant amending the existing Educational Mitigation Agreement, and 3) the applicant’s confirmation of its ongoing commitment to not negatively impact protected natural lands and archaeological resources, and to obtain any necessary environmental licensing permits. Existing 2,205-acre Miramar Activity Center I, reducing development threshold of retail and industrial land uses and increasing development threshold of office land uses and residential dwelling units.
Approximately 2,205 acres; generally located on the south side of Pembroke Road, between Flamingo Road and Palm Avenue/Southwest 101 Avenue, in the City of Miramar.
