Why Action is Necessary

Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (The Broward County Land Development Code) requires changes to previously approved or recorded plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

What Action Accomplishes

Approves a plat modification subject to staff recommendations and conditions assuring compliance with the standards and requirements of the Broward County Land Development Code.

Summary Explanation/Background

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will assure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.

This plat, specifically, Lot 1 of Block 21 located on the southwest corner of Southwest 17 Street and Southwest 33 Avenue in the City of Fort Lauderdale, is subject to a 30-foot setback line illustrated on the recorded plat. The applicant is requesting to remove the setback line from a portion of Lot 1 of Block 21. See attached Staff Report.
