Broward County and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (“GFLCVB”) has the opportunity to sponsor the Broward County Signature Event of the 2019 Riptide Music Festival, occurring from November 22, 2019, through November 24, 2019, on Fort Lauderdale Beach. This three-day event is expected to attract more than 50,000 attendees and will highlight key national music artists in concert as well as events associated with the arts, fashion and culinary. The 2019 Riptide Music Festival and Broward County’s Signature Event will be presented in four main categories: music, “create” (arts), fashion, and culinary, and provide the GFLCVB and the County the opportunity to showcase the destination as a key hub in celebration of Broward’s creative universe.
Additional Broward County Signature Event programming is planned for other venues throughout the County, which will be geographically disbursed throughout all of the Commission districts, contemplated to concentrate primarily at County Library locations. The Cultural Division will be taking the lead on these activities.
Because South Florida is the gateway to various national and international destinations, as well as a main hub to the drive market, Broward County’s Signature Event offers a rare and first-time opportunity to attract attendees from the tourist community to experience a key event with national talent.
We are committed to using this event to strengthen our community’s music, arts, fashion, and culinary movement, where Broward County will be highlighted as a key creative industries destination.
Not only is Greater Fort Lauderdale one of the premier tourist destinations, it is a diverse and welcoming community with focus on evolving creative industries and its growth. This event will bring both domestic and international media attention to the destination as well as create awareness. Funding for the Signature Event is included in the Fiscal Year 2019 budget and was also reviewed at the January 26, 2019 Tourism Development Council meeting. |
