MOTION TO CONSIDER City of Sunrise’s proposal for local cost share related to the Sawgrass Expressway and Pat Salerno interchange.

NOTE: The proposal from the City of Sunrise will not be available until after their Commission meeting on May 28, 2019, which is when they have the matter on the agenda for consideration.

(Per the Tuesday Morning Memorandum, the Board deferred this item to the June 11, 2019, Commission Meeting – no Local Funding Agreement from the Turnpike Enterprise.)  (See Yellow-Sheeted Additional Material, dated June 4, 2019, submitted at the request of County Administration.)

Allows the Board to discuss and determine what action they would like to take regarding the City’s share of the Local Funding Agreement proposed by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise for a full interchange at the Sawgrass Expressway and Pat Salerno Drive.

Will allow for the County to meet the Florida Turnpike Enterprise’s deadline to execute a Local Funding Agreement by June 14, 2014, if the Board should decide to do so.

The Sunrise City Manager previously advised that the City Commission would be discussing this issue at its May 14, 2019, meeting. The matter was not scheduled for discussion based on an extension provided by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise. The City Manager has now advised the matter will be discussed at their Commission meeting on May 28, 2019.
