Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ENACT Ordinance amending the Broward County Comprehensive Plan to adopt Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 19-5, the substance of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN TEXT REGARDING ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ACTION:  (T-2:00 PM)  Filed proof of publication and enacted the Ordinance to become effective as provided by law.  (Refer to minutes for full discussion.)

VOTE: 8-0.  Commissioner Sharief was not present.

Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 19-5 in accordance with Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

January 24, 2019 - County Commission approved transmittal of proposed amendment PCT 19-5 to State review agencies; and May 21, 2019 - Set adoption Public Hearing for June 4, 2019.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PCT 19-5, at its January 24, 2019, public hearing and recommended approval including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 14-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Good, Graham, Hardin, Rich, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Williams and Stermer):

AMENDMENT PCT 19-5
Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text regarding accessory dwelling units.
