Requested Action
MOTION TO APPROVE Interlocal Agreement between Broward County and the City of Hollywood for Guaranteed Partial Services, Building Code Services Division, to provide Florida Building Code inspection, plan review and building official services from April 1, 2019, until April 1, 2022 and authorize the County Administrator and Clerk to execute same. (Commission District 6)

Why Action is Necessary
The Interlocal Agreement must be approved by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners pursuant to Chapter 19, Part XIII of the Administrative Code.

This is an agreement that allows the contract for partial service with the City of Hollywood from April 1, 2019, through April 1, 2022.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING CODE SERVICES DIVISION (BCSD) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

It is the policy of the Board of County Commissioners to offer building code services to local municipalities that seek to either supplement their building departments or transfer permitting responsibilities to the County in a guaranteed partial service agreement.

The attached Interlocal Agreement for guaranteed partial building code services (Exhibit 2) authorizes BCSD to provide building official, plan review and permit inspections until April 1, 2022. Fees are assessed based on the most current County fee schedule and BCSD currently provides similar services to Cooper City, Hallandale Beach, Dania Beach, Lauderdale Lakes, Miramar, North Lauderdale, and Oakland Park.

The Office of the County Attorney has approved this agreement as to form.
