A. MOTION TO APPROVE use of County staff and resources to promote and raise funds for the Friends of Humanity International, Inc. (FHII).

ACTION:  (T-11:36 AM)  Approved. 

VOTE: 9-0.  Commissioner Geller voted in the affirmative telephonically.

B. MOTION TO APPROVE contribution of $2,000 to FHII to be used for charitable purposes and to authorize the County Administrator to execute any corresponding agreement subject to approval as to legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney. (Commissioner Sharief)

Under the County's Code of Ethics for Elected Officials, County staff and County resources may be used in connection with the solicitation of charitable contributions if the County sponsors the applicable charity or fundraising event.

A.  Authorizes the use of County staff and resources to promote and raise funds for FHII.

 

B.  Authorizes the donation of $2,000 to FHII.

None.

FHII serves people of all races, colors, and creeds. It provides help with disaster relief and hunger prevention, and promotes education, healthcare, refugee assistance, and social services to local and global communities.
 
If approved, this item would allow the use of County staff and resources to promote FHII's mission and raise funds for the organization. It would also authorize the donation of $2,000 to FHII and delegate to the County Administrator the authority to sign any corresponding agreement subject to approval as to legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney.
