MOTION TO APPROVE First Amendment to Lease Agreement between Sopher Investments, Inc. (Landlord) and Broward County (Tenant) for approximately 909 square feet located at 4000 North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes extending the term for one year at a rental rate of $21,600 plus operating expenses for the Water and Wastewater Services Customer Service Office; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same. Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION/REAL PROPERTY SECTION AND WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

On January 14, 2014 (Item No. 4), the Board of County Commissioners approved the lease agreement between Broward County and Sopher Investments, Inc. for the Water and Wastewater Services Customer Service Office. The current terms expires on June 9, 2019. The proposed amendment would extend the lease for an additional one year for a monthly rental rate of $1,800 plus operating expenses. All other terms and conditions of the lease remain the same.

All documents have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
