Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO AUTHORIZE County Administrator to approve and execute Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) sponsorship agreement, for an amount up to an additional $900,000 from April 9, 2019, through August 31, 2019; subject to approval of the agreement form by the Office of the County Attorney; and authorize the County Administrator to take all administrative and budgetary actions related to the sponsorship agreements.

ACTION:  (T-10:45 AM)  Approved.

VOTE:  9-0.  Commissioner Geller and Vice-Mayor Holness voted in the affirmative telephonically.

Allows the County Administrator to approve and execute GFLCVB contracts in excess of $500,000 for the period between April 9, 2019 and August 31, 2019.

This item further supports the GFLCVB's mission, "regarding the promotion of tourism, the marketing of Broward County as a desirable tourist and convention destination: and representing the County as a "regional, national, and international destination," (see Part 3, Section 13.31, subsections d and f of the Administrative Code).

This authorization allows the County Administrator to approve GFLCVB contracts up to $900,000 between April 9, 2019 through August 31, 2019, that will generate significant economic activity in Broward County.
