The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed text amendment, PCT 19-2, at its February 28, 2019, public hearing and recommended approval, including a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 13-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Brunson, Castillo, Ganz, Gomez, Graham, Grosso, Hardin, Railey, Rich, Rosenof and Stermer):
AMENDMENT PCT 19-2
Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text regarding residential uses in the "Commerce" land use category.
At its March 22, 2018 meeting, the Planning Council initiated a review of the Commerce and Residential land use designations to evaluate the potential for a category to address redevelopment of multi-use and mixed-use developments on a smaller scale, as opposed to utilizing the Activity Center designation. Subsequent to the Council's initiation, the Broward County Commissions reiterated the initiation at an April 17, 2018 workshop, including promotion of mixed-income/affordable housing opportunities.
Further, if the County Commission sets the public hearing, the full amendment report and associated attachments will be included as an exhibit to the public hearing item. |
