MOTION TO APPROVE travel for more than five County employees from the same department to attend the same non-local event on the attached summary, in accordance with Administrative Code - Chapter 3, Part II, Section 3.10 (b) - County Employee Travel.

ACTION:  (T-10:30 AM)  Approved.

VOTE: 8-0.  Commissioner Sharief was not present.

Board approval is required for more than five County employees from the same department to attend the same event.

Provides approval needed for compliance with the Administrative Code.

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION, AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
 
In accordance with Administrative Code - Chapter 3, Part II, Section 3.10 (b) - County Employee Travel, attached is a request for ten County employees from the Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department to attend a mandatory training in Lake City, Florida. 
 
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (FDEP’s) mandatory annual Tank Inspector Training Conference is scheduled for April 8-10, 2019. The FDEP had requested that all storage tank facility inspectors attend the training to ensure compliance with Compliance Verification Contract GC920. There are no registration fees associated with this travel and FDEP will reimburse the County for travel costs.
