MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2019-070 accepting a warranty deed executed by Holman Automotive, Inc. for right-of-way located along the east side of North Andrews Avenue south of NE 9th Street in the City of Fort Lauderdale, at a nominal cost of $10 to Broward County. (Commission District 7)

ACTION:  (T-10:41 AM)  Approved.

VOTE:  9-0.

Board of County Commissioners’ approval is required pursuant to Florida case law for conveyance of interest in property to Broward County.

Accepts public right-of-way to improve traffic and pedestrian safety and accommodate future multi-modal transportation improvements.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL

The Resolution will convey an irregularly-shaped parcel of land, measuring approximately nine feet by 200 feet from Holman Automotive, Inc. to Broward County by warranty deed for inclusion into the North Andrews Avenue right-of-way. The parcel is located along the east side of North Andrews Avenue, a County road, south of NE 9th Street in the City of Fort Lauderdale. The additional right-of-way will provide adequate sight distance for safety, facilitate the installation of future traffic control devices and pedestrian enhancements, and accommodate future multi-modal transportation improvements.

The Resolution and warranty deed have been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney's Office.
