MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2019-044 accepting a road easement executed by 400 N.E. Third Avenue, LLC located along the east side of NE 3rd Avenue north of NE 4th Street in the City of Fort Lauderdale, at a nominal cost of $1 to Broward County. (Commission District 7)

VOTE: 9-0.  Commissioner Geller voted in the affirmative telephonically.

Board of County Commissioners’ approval is required pursuant to Florida case law for conveyance of interest in property to Broward County.

Accepts a road easement to improve traffic and pedestrian safety and accommodate future multi-modal transportation improvements.

Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL

The Resolution will convey an irregularly-shaped road easement, measuring approximately five feet by 400 feet, from 400 N.E. Third Avenue, LLC to Broward County.  The easement is located along the east side of NE 3rd Avenue, a County road, north of NE 4th Street in the City of Fort Lauderdale. The easement is required to provide adequate sight distance for safety, facilitate installation of future traffic control devices and pedestrian enhancements, and to accommodate future multi-modal transportation improvements.

The Resolution and road easement have been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney's Office.
