MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2019-052 accepting a road easement executed by 88 Construction Group LLC located at the northwest corner of NW 27th Avenue and NW 11th Street in the Broward Municipal Services District, at a nominal cost of $1 to Broward County. (Commission District 9)

ACTION:  (T-10:55 AM)  Approved.  

VOTE: 9-0.  Commissioner Geller voted in the affirmative telephonically.

Board of County Commissioners’ approval is required pursuant to Florida case law for conveyance of interest in property to Broward County.

Accepts a road easement to improve traffic and pedestrian safety.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL.

The Resolution will convey a triangularly-shaped road easement, measuring approximately 20 feet by 20 feet, from 88 Construction Group LLC to Broward County, located at the northwest corner of NW 27th Avenue and NW 11th Street which are both County roads in the Broward Municipal Services District. The easement is required to provide adequate sight distance for safety and pedestrian enhancements at this intersection in the future.

This item relates to activities in the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD). The BMSD consists of 11.4 square miles with a 2015 estimated population of 14,515. The Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the BMSD and the provider of its municipal services that include but are not limited to business development, building permitting and housing development, libraries and parks facilities, roadway maintenance, street enhancements, and zoning and code enforcement.

The Resolution and road easement have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
