MOTION TO CONSIDER APPROVAL of a non-vehicular access line amendment on the Young World Plat (104-MP-83). (Commission District 7) (Deferred from June 12, 2018 - Item No. 48)

Why Action is Necessary
Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (The Broward County Land Development Code) requires changes to previously approved or recorded plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
What Action Accomplishes
Approves a non-vehicular access line amendment adjacent to the plat, subject to staff recommendations and conditions assuring compliance with the standards and requirements of the Broward County Land Development Code.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will assure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.

This plat is located on 56.6 acres, on the east side of South University Drive, between Southwest 30 Street and Southwest 39 Street, in the Town of Davie. This property is owned by Nova Southeastern University which is proposing a new hospital and medical facility. The applicant is requesting to amend the non-vehicular access line along South University Drive to delete a 50-foot opening and create a new 100-foot opening on Parcel B. 

This item was deferred on June 12, 2018 to update the memorandum from Highway Construction and Engineering Division (HCED) to be consistent with comments from Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).  See updated attached Staff Report.
