The City of North Lauderdale’s inspection of existing outdoor fitness equipment at Hampton Pines Park has revealed wear to key structural areas. Some equipment is thus in need of replacement. The City of North Lauderdale City Commission has approved the purchase of $28,675 of equipment from Exo Fit Outdoor Fitness.
The City of Tamarac would like to offer the community greenspace for family picnics and other outdoor entertainment. To that end, the City has budgeted $120,000 to fund a concrete pathway and picnic area at Waterview Park.
On August 16, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners (the “Board”) voted to approve the allocation of $58,000 in Safe Parks Funds to each County Commission district for subsequent allocation by that district. The $58,000 allocated to District 3 remains available. Safe Parks Funds may be used either for improvements to existing parks or for land acquisition to create new parks or expand existing parks.
Approval of this item would allocate $28,675 of Safe Parks Funds to purchase outdoor fitness equipment for Hampton Pines Park and $29,325 as a contribution toward the cost of a picnic shelter at Waterview Park. It would also direct the County Attorney to draft, and the County Administrator to execute, standard documentation to effectuate these allocations. If approved, the item will allocate the entirety of the $58,000 allocated to District 3.
