THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION (ECPD) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Approval of this motion will permit ECPD to issue Class 5 - Nonemergency Medical Transportation Services licenses to the named companies.
Nonemergency Medical Transportation Service means any service that uses vehicles designed to transport persons confined to wheelchairs or stretchers whose conditions are such that these persons do not need, nor are likely to need, medical attention during transport. Chapter 3 1/2 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances identifies the process to which every person, firm, corporation, or association must adhere to provide Nonemergency Medical Transportation Service (NEMTS) within Broward County. This process includes a public hearing to issue or deny the license.
ECPD has received and reviewed the applications (Exhibit 1) for new licenses (Exhibit 2) from Access Help, LLC, ATC Medical Transport Corp, Medical Transport Solutions, Inc., and Nice Transportation Service, Inc. to provide NEMTS within Broward County. The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Review Committee of the Broward Regional EMS Council reviewed the above applications on October 23, 2018 and recommend approval and issuance. The full applications, including exhibits, are maintained by the ECPD. |
