MOTION TO DIRECT County Administrator to publish notice of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 422 of the Governmental Center to consider issuance of new licenses to provide Class 5 - Nonemergency Medical Transportation Services (NEMTS) to Access Help, LLC, ATC Medical Transport Corp, Medical Transport Solutions, Inc., and Nice Transportation Service, Inc.

Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Chapter 3 1/2-8(f) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, a Public Hearing must be held to consider the issuance or denial of Class 5 - Nonemergency Medical Transportation Service licenses.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides the Board with an opportunity to receive public comments concerning applicants seeking to provide Class 5 - Nonemergency Medical Transportation Services within Broward County.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION (ECPD) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

Approval of this motion will permit ECPD to proceed forward with setting a public hearing (Exhibit 1) to consider awarding Medical Transport Licenses to four companies.

The Environmental and Consumer Protection Division has received and reviewed the applications for a new license (Exhibit 2) from Access Help, LLC, ATC Medical Transport Corp, Medical Transport Solutions, Inc., and Nice Transportation Service, Inc. to provide Nonemergency Medical Transportation Services within Broward County, Florida. Pursuant to Chapter 3 1/2 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, the EMS Review Committee of the Broward Regional EMS Council reviewed the above applications on October 23, 2018 and recommended approval and issuance of said licenses, contingent upon the respective providers completing the requirements identified in the Broward County Code of Ordinances.
