On October 9, 2018, Agenda Item Number 50, the Board discussed Wells Fargo's actions regarding Florida Agriculture Commissioner candidate and Wells Fargo client Nikki Fried, based on her advocacy for expanded patient access to medical marijuana and the possibility that she may receive campaign contributions from lobbyists for the medical marijuana industry. The agenda item indicated that Wells Fargo should submit information to the County by October 23, 2018, regarding the policy basis for its actions relative to Ms. Fried or should indicate what corrective action has been taken to address the issue.
This agenda item provides an opportunity for representatives of Wells Fargo to appear before the Board to address the issue or, if a written response is received by October 23, 2018, allows for the Board to discuss the response. If representatives of Wells Fargo fail to appear or to provide a response by October 23, as stated in the agenda item of October 9, 2018, an item will be placed on an upcoming County Commission agenda seeking that action be taken to address Wells Fargo's actions.
