Summary Explanation/Background
To encourage voter turnout for the 2018 general election, the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, Florida (Board) desires to provide free bus fares on November 3, 2018, during early voting for the 2018 countywide general election.

Section 41.01 of the Broward County Administrative Code (Administrative Code) outlines the fixed-route bus fare structure for Broward County Transit. Bus fares outlined in the Administrative Code are established and revised by resolution of the Board amending the Administrative Code. Since the Board is waiving bus fares for one day, the waiver can be accomplished by resolution, and no amendment to the Administrative Code is required.
