Requested Action
MOTION TO CONSIDER APPROVAL of a plat note amendment to the Coral Springs Municipal Complex (107-MP-87). (Commission District 3)

(Commissioner Udine pulled this item.)

ACTION:  (T-10:51 AM)  Approved per staff's recommendations.  The Board requested that information be brought back to the Board at a later time as to requirements of voting on ministerial acts.  (Refer to minutes for full discussion.)

VOTE:  8-1.  Commissioner Udine voted no.

 
Why Action is Necessary
Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (The Broward County Land Development Code) requires changes to previously approved or recorded plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
What Action Accomplishes
Approves a plat note amendment subject to staff recommendations and conditions assuring compliance with the standards and requirements of the Broward County Land Development Code.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will assure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.

This plat, located on 74.1 acres on the southeast corner of Coral Springs Drive and Northwest 29 Street (Ben Geiger Drive), in the City of Coral Springs, is currently restricted to 206,973 square feet of municipal complex and 30 acres of existing park. The applicant is requesting to add 18,027 square feet to the municipal complex for a total of 225,000 square feet and add 280,000 square feet of secondary school with 40,000 square feet of accessory office use. The existing park use remains unchanged. See attached Staff Report.
