Requested Action
MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2018-468 approving Quit Claim Deed conveying a portion of the southeast and northeast corners of the new Broward Addiction Recovery Center located at 325 SW 28th Street to the City of Fort Lauderdale for right-of-way purposes; authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute deed and recordation of same. (Commission District 7)

Why Action is Necessary
Board of County Commissioners' approval is required to convey right-of-way to municipalities pursuant to Florida Statutes, Section 335.0415(3).
What Action Accomplishes
Conveys the northeast and southeast corners of the new Broward Addiction Recovery Center (BARC) to the City of Fort Lauderdale which is required to obtain a final certificate of occupancy. Transferring these parcels eliminates potential liability and maintenance costs.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION/REAL PROPERTY SECTION AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The new BARC facility is located at 325 SW 28th Street in Fort Lauderdale and identified by Folio Number 5042-22-03-0360. Prior to the issuance of the final certificate of occupancy, the City is requiring the County to convey two corner chords on the BARC property for right-of-way purposes. Corner chords are used to improve sight distance and visibility to drivers. The corner chords are located at the northeast and southeast corners of the property.

All documents have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
