MOTION TO DISCUSS Broward Days 2019 and possible funding and programming for the event. (Mayor Furr)

ACTION:  (T-11:41 AM)  Following discussion, the Board approved $10,000.00 sponsorship. Commissioner Udine requested being a co-sponsor to this item.  (Refer to minutes for full discussion.)

Provides for formal discussion of potential upcoming action.

Enables the Board of County Commissioners to discuss Broward Days 2019.

Broward Days is an annual event designed to bring conversation and action between Tallahassee and Broward on state and local issues. Broward Days 2019 will be held on March 12-13, in Tallahassee, Florida, during the 2019 Regular Legislative Session. Programming will include educational sessions, receptions, speakers, and informative displays by businesses and government entities. The event also provides an opportunity to advocate in support of Broward County’s most pressing community needs before state legislative and executive branch leaders.
 
Broward Days Chair Candice Ericks and Broward Days staff have indicated their desire to work again with the Broward County Commission on making this event possible. This item allows for discussion and input on event programming and funding.
