Summary Explanation/Background
The "Secondhand Dealers" Ordinance, Section 20-123, et. seq. of the Broward County Code of Ordinances ("Code"), requires all secondhand dealers to follow more stringent requirements than the state statute for holding secondhand goods and recording transactions. The additional holding and reporting requirements for secondhand dealers under the Code currently include several categories of low-risk secondhand sales.

The proposed amendment would provide the Office of the County Attorney with direction to draft an Ordinance consistent with the Board's objectives in regulating secondhand dealers.
